It was early in the morning. The sun hadn't even risen yet and the air was cold and smelt of salt. Leon sat in the sand on the beach, looking out toward the ocean, thinking back on his childhood. He thought about his father and how they use to come here from Dollet. He remembered how much he loved the sea and the memories that came with it. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore made him feel at ease. He closed his eyes and let himself fall on his back. As he laid there with his eyes closed, he began to reminisce some more. He remembered how happy Celeste and him were when their parents were still alive. They hardly ever fought and were nothing more than a very close family. They did everything together. Even though there were a lot of good memories, there was just one bad one that would sour it all. The memory of that day was enough to make Leon want to forget, forget everything that ever happened.
Leon opened his eyes, gazing up at the sky. He frowned with discomfort and turmoil. He began to wonder if he would ever get over what happened that day, probably not. As he noticed the sky getting brighter from the sun that was just barely rising, he figured that he should be getting back to the Garden before his sister woke up. He certainly did not want to get scolded for going to the beach without her, she was a force to be reckoned with. In truth though, he didn't mind the scolding at all. He was worried about his sisters feelings, he didn't like it when she was upset in any way. Leon sat up and looked at the rising sun once more before getting up and turning around to leave. As he walked away he brushed the grains of sand off his shirt and tussled his hair with both hands. As he walked to his car, house lights began to turn on and feint sounds of alarm clocks began to go off. This had turned into a routine, for he came to the beach almost every morning alone to relax and have time to himself. He started up the engine and drove off, leaving the town behind.
