Sneaking in- (Open)

The sun was now above the horizon and it was minutes before everyone started to get up. It wasn't the other cadets he was worried about though, they knew that he left almost every morning to go somewhere and they just accepted that. What he was worried about, was them all getting up and the sound of that might be enough to wake up his younger sister. As he got to the door he gently grabbed the doorknob and slowly began turning. He put his left hand on the door and the right side of his body up against it. He began to open the door inch by inch until finally he had enough room to actually get through the door. Suddenly however, to Leon's dismay; a few of the cadets that knew around the time he got back got ready for Leon's return and as soon as he opened the door they all yelled, "WELCOME BACK LEON!"

They all laughed and snickered knowing about Celeste's fury. A sharp chill dashed up Leon's spine as soon as the words were said and he closed his eyes tightly. He quickly spun around and gave them a very serious glare. The simply smiled and dashed back into their rooms laughing hysterically. Even though it was harmless fun to them, Leon always tended to take things a little too far. Once his sister got upset because of him, he would feel a deep sense of guilt throughout the entire day. If she were to wake up now, there would be nothing Leon could say to get himself out of the situation. He smelt of sea salt and there were still bits of sand on him. Although, he did his best not to lie to his sister anyway, he would feel too guilty afterward.

Celeste was dreaming. It was a nightmare. The same one she had been having for years. She watched over and over again, the memory of her parents getting killed by the bite bugs. Each time she had the dream though, the bugs looked meaner and uglier than the last, and each time her brother was more severely injured before the Balamb soldiers showed up to save them, which was when she'd wake up.

As she reached a state of semi-awake, she sobbed a bit, which wasn't abnormal for her. This was when she heard loud voices and laughter. She was quite upset because that's the last thing she wanted to wake up to. She preferred to wake up slowly, to little noise.

Celeste's eye snapped open and she raised one of her small arms up and wiped the tears from her eyes. She sat up quickly and looked to the door. There she saw her brother, standing, fully-clothed, with his back facing her. She scrunched up her face in a form of anger that only a small child like herself could have.

Quietly as she could, Celeste slipped out of bed in her pajamas and snuck up to her big brother. When she arrived behind him, she grinned slyly and poked him in the back repeatedly without saying a word.

She giggled a little to herself inside before he turned around because she knew pretty much how he was going to react and she was going to enjoy it. She knew what he had done and she was upset that he didn't take her....again!

"Assholes...", thought Leon with a smile as he heard them still snickering behind the door. Sure enough soon after he felt consistent poking on his back. Another chill jolted up his back, frightening him far more than the one before. This was because he knew he was caught. The guilt was already setting in. Leon slowly turned his head right and looked over and down his shoulder, seeing Celeste standing there. "H-hey there Celeste.", said Leon with a hesitant voice as he rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand.

He gave her a crooked smile, trying to play it off casually. "I know what you're thinking and I didn't... see the things is... I was... uh.", he said to Celeste, not being able to find the correct words to get him out of this situation. Even if he did lie to her without a stutter or acting so suspiciously she was smart enough to figure out what was really going on.

The crooked smile left his face and became more of a very slight frown. He turned around to face her but when he did he turned his head down and left, looking at the floor. "I know. I'm sorry Celeste.", he said in a low tone.

"I figured you would want to, you know. Sleep, but I guess I was wrong again.", he continued. "Ugh, this excuse again. I should really think of a new reason.", thought leon.

Leon was fully aware that Celeste always wants to come with him regardless of the time, but he didn't want Celeste to see him so sad. Every time he thought about the past, a certain invisible aura would loom overhead and would wreak of depression. "How am I going to make this one up to her? This is what, the third, fourth time she's caught me already? No, she's probably caught me more than that.. just hasn't told me.", he continued to think.

Celeste shrieked with joy, on the inside, when she saw her brother's reaction. She liked teasing him. He deserved it for never taking her out with him. She wanted to go spend time outside on the beach and stuff but the people at Balamb wouldn't let her go alone.

"Onii-chan, I go to bed really early every night so I can get up in the morning with you and the rest of the school. I don't need to sleep in any later. You should really stop thinking those silly things onii-chan." she said to her older brother.

Celeste turned around and took a few steps away from Leon. She was trying to make him think more about what he had done and what she might do to get back at him. That was when she suddenly got the perfect idea.

"Baka..." she said very sadly, almost to the point where it sounded like she would cry. "Just you wait. I'm going to make you pay. It's going to happen tonite when you least expect it, and I'm not gonna say what it is!" she added with a smile; though her face couldn't be seen, the playful tone of her voice was evident.

'Now onii-chan will worry all day about what is going to happen to him! This is going to be great!' she thought to herself with a big grin.

Leon figured that excuse wouldn't work a third time, but he really wasn't quick on his feet when it came to Celeste. "I should really make it up to her. Maybe I should...", thought Leon, before he heard Celeste call him an idiot.

It shot down pretty deep when he hear that. Guilt overcame him even more-so when Celeste told him that she was going to make him "pay". Leon gave a quiet sigh and put on a warm smile. He strolled on over to Celeste, closing the door behind him and placed his right hand on top of her head. He tussled her hair and soon after said, "Hmph, well I guess I deserve what's coming to me."

"Whatever will make you happy Celeste.", thought Leon as he looked down at her before removing his hand from her head. He didn't see her face, so the smile she gave was still unknown. "You know...", said Leon right before his alarm clock began to go off, it's annoying beep kept getting louder and louder each passing moment.

Leon turned and walked over to it, looking at it with a grimace. He pressed down on the button to make the alarm stop and proceeded toward the bathroom. "Well I guess I should start getting ready now.", he said to Celeste.

Leon opened the bathroom door and walked over to the skin, grabbing his toothbrush and toothpaste. He placed a dab of toothpaste on the toothbrush and began to brush his teeth. "I must've really upset her.", thought Leon.

His stomach ached and he felt uneasy, probably from how bad he felt. Even if things were to be all right this very moment, there would be nothing to save him, what was done was done and he would pay for it all day. At least the day couldn't get any worse.

"Yeah you do." she said before her brother spoke again. "Oh don't worry, it will make me very happy onii-chan." she said with a smirk.

"Yeah you don't want to be late. They might do worse things to you than me if you are!" She said happily, mostly to frighten him more.

Celeste ran over to her dresser while Leon was in the bathroom and tore off her pajamas and got herself dressed. After she finished getting dressed she sat on the side of her bed staring at the ceiling kicking her legs as they dangled of the edge. Thoughts flew through her mind about what she would do all day, what she was going to have for breakfast and lunch, and her plans for her brother's "punishment".

Leon spit out the toothpaste and turned on the faucet, filling a small glass of water and then taking a drink from it. He swished the water around in his mouth and spit it into the sink. He turned off the faucet and walked out of the bathroom and headed straight to his room. He opened up his closet and grabbed his kevlar underclothes. He stripped and put on his kevlar clothes, before walking over to a specialized pod. It opened on approached, instantly confirming it was him. Leon's Balamb Combat Suit was within the pod on display. He took it out piece by piece, slowly putting on everything starting with the boots, then the arms, and finally the chest. He grabbed his helmet and masked and walked over to his bed, the pod closing immediately after he left a certain radius. He placed his helmet and mask on his bed and walked back over to his closet, grabbing a large steel suitcase and placing it on top of his bed next to his helmet and mask.

Leon opened up the suit case, which could only be opened by placing his thumbs in certain positions near the buttons. The suit case opened and there was Leon's .50 BMG and FN P90. Leon grabbed the FN P90 and holstered it. He then grabbed his .50 BMG and lifted it over his head and then mounted it on his armored backpack attached to his armor. Leon closed the case and then grabbed his helmet , placing it under his left arm and then he grabbed his mask with his left hand. Leon let out a deep sigh before turning around and leaving his room. He walked into the front room and saw that Celeste was no longer in there.

So, he proceeded toward her room and when he got there, knocked on her door. He had a long day ahead of him, not because of the training that Genji was going to put him through, but the fact that he was going to do whatever he could to make up for sneaking out again.

"C'mon in onii-chan!" Celeste shouted out from the room, knowing it was her older brother. "I just finished getting dressed and I'm trying to think of what to do all day."

Celeste got lost in thought while she waited for her brother to enter. She was trying to decide what she would have for breakfast at the cafeteria after her brother left, and more importantly, what she would do with the tons of free time she had after she ate. She knew one thing for sure though, she was going to need a drink as soon as possible. She was really thirsty.

Celeste returned to kicking her feet while staring downwards in marvel at how far below them the ground was.

Leon opened Celeste's door, slowly pushing it open and peaking his head through. He looked at Celeste and gave her a warm smile. "Well, I'll be heading off now. Have fun till I get back, or at least try to. Heh.", said Leon in a friendly voice.

Leon stepped back and closed the door as he did so. "I wonder what Genji has in store for me today. Either way, if I pass, I'll get the day off so that's reason enough to go. Knowing him though, by the time I'm done, I'll be far too exhausted to do anything afterwards.", thought Leon, before letting out a deep and heavy sigh.

Leon then shrugged to himself and thought. "Well no sense thinking about it really, I've got to do it."

Leon turned around and walked toward the door, opening it as soon as he was within reach. He motioned to step out, but stopped himself and looked over at Celeste's door. "Don't worry Celeste, I'll pass this and we'll spend the whole day together, just you wait a little while.", he thought to himself as if he were actually telling her.

Leon stepped out the door and closed it behind him gently and began walking down the hallway towards the Training Area. Leon still felt the guilt, but it felt a little lighter than before, knowing that he may actually have the chance to make it up to Celeste this time. Unlike all those other times though, where there was actually little he could really do aside from buy Celeste her favorite ice-cream. That was usually enough to bring her around, but this time things would be different. Genji's test paled in comparison to his ambition and determination now, he would pass this test and he would do it in record time.

"Bye onii-chan!" Celeste said with a wave as her brother popped in her room before heading out, clad in his body armor.

Celeste stopped kicking her feet and hopped off the bed shortly after her brother closed the door. She began to walk towards the door as she too was about to leave, only for her it was to go get breakfast.

As she went to grab the door handle and open the door she felt something strange. She wasn't sure what it was exactly but it made her feel really happy and excited about the rest of the day.

After standing there, giggling lightly to herself for a few moments, Celeste opened her door and walked out. She left the dorm room and walked happily, almost skipping, towards the cafeteria as she played with the ideas of what she might end up eating when she got there.

When she arrived at her destination, Celeste smiled and waved happily at the people working there, much to their shock. It was kind of unnerving for them, seeing Celeste in such a mood. She was usually more quiet and reserved.

Celeste walked over and looked at the wide selection of foods they had available for consumption during breakfast hours. She walked back and forth, her smile fading and in it's place a look of deep thought appeared as she tried to decide what to have.

After many minutes of thinking and internal struggle, Celeste decides to simply have some cereal. She grabbed a bowl, a spoon, the cereal and milk, and a glass of orange juice. Celeste then took her breakfast on a tray over to the tables and took a seat.

The cafeteria was pretty barren, but that wasn't unusual for when she ate, because most of the people at garden were at classes or out on missions. Celeste didn't mind though, she actually liked the peace and quiet. She preferred to be left alone most of the time.

Celeste hummed quietly to herself with a small smile on her face and she slowly at her breakfast while kicking feet that were dangling from her chair. The few people still working, putting away the breakfast stuff to get ready for lunch in a few hours, got really worried seeing Celeste in such a mood. They couldn't fathom what was making her act that way, though they were also too scared to speak to her. They knew she didn't like talking and had heard students talk of what happened to Leon when he made her mad.

Celeste eventually finished eating and got up and brought her tray over to a garbage and threw out the disposables. She then took the tray and other dishes over to the return area, where the people working in the kitchen took the dirty dishes and washed them so they could be used again.

Celeste then quietly waved goodbye before walking back out and heading towards her room again to decide how she would spend the rest of her day.
